I have a secured loan totalling $16,000 through a finance company. The interest rate is at 18%. That is after I asked that it be lowered. I’ve been paying this for years and it never ends. I’ve been through a debt payment program but this bill could not be included because it was secured. What steps can I take to get rid of this bill short of suicide?

Is it worth while to do an Interest only loan when refinancing your home?

There’s a company that’s offering 1.5% APR interest only loan for anyone that has a credit score of 620 or above. They advised that if I take the $800 in savings and invest it, I can use the savings to pay off all of my outstanding debt. In 5 yrs after the loan is over we would do it again but because it’s interest only that I’m paying the amount of the new loan will be more than the original loan. We just need some professional advise.

Thanks for your response. But we have signed docs with a bank already, but since the rates have dropped AND I’ve learned of some credit unions offering a better interest rate plus lower closing costs. If I stop the process now, would our credit scores be affected?
