What Problems Are There With Joint Ownership In Idaho? – IdahoProbateLawVideos.com

IdahoProbateLawVideos.com Joint ownership can cause problems when you are planning your estate. It is important to protect yourself and your assets when joint ownership is involved. In this video Susan Graham, a Boise Estate Planning Lawyer, gives an overview on What Problems There are With Joint Ownership in Property. Joint ownership has many problems attached to it. If you have a joint account other than your spouse and one co-tenant dies. Idaho law does not provide that all the property go to the living joint tenant. You need to fill out a separate form to achieve this action. Using this to bypass probate is not effective. If you jointly own a car and you get in a car accident, both of you will get sued. Car titles are another problem area. Be careful of who you place on an asset. They can provide a loophole for collectors and law suits.

Protecting Assets From The Cost Of Nursing Home Care In Idaho – IdahoProbateLawVideos.com

IdahoProbateLawVideos.com Nursing homes or other types of assisted living facilities can be very expensive. If you or your spouse have a need for such care it can quickly drain your retirement savings. In this video Susan Graham, a Boise Probate Lawyer, gives an overview on How to Protect Your Assets From the Cost of Nursing Home Care. Protect your assets with a multi level endeavor. First acquire large sums of money to pay for the care by yourself. For most people this is unrealistic. Long term care insurance is a great way to protect your assets against nursing home expenses. If you have time we can put some of your assets into an irrevocable trust. You have to accomplish this 5 years prior to using Medicaid. When we create these trusts we wrap them up with razor wire so the beneficiary can use the money in the best way possible. We also make it possible for the money to supplement the cost of long term care or other necessary living expenses. It can even be used for a grandchild’s education. It is important to contact a competent attorney to work out the best plan for your situation. http
